In recognition of National Public Works Week
On Wednesday, May 21st, the Village of Round Lake held a Public Works Open House with plenty of activities for everyone who stopped by. There was equipment on hand from the village as well as other entities such as Waste Management, Lake County Highway Department, and others. Residents had the opportunity to visit with the public works employees who were on hand to explain their jobs and the equipment that they operate. The Village had some of their newest purchases on hand such as one that cleans out storm water drain pipes and another recent acquisition, a slightly used government surplus foam truck that can assist with such things as fire fighting at a price they couldn’t turn down. Be sure to watch the entire video below where you will see Melissa Olenick from Central Lake County JAWA explain how water hardness is determined in the water that you use.
It was a great day for the event, with plenty of wind which was picked up by the mic in the video, but I didn’t want to mute the audio so you couldn’t hear the kids having so much fun.
