During a brief stop at the Rollins Road Gateway Project this evening I saw that they have put down a layer of asphalt from Rollins Road almost up to Hainesville Road on the temporary Rollins Road bypass.
In addition, concrete trucks were still coming and going as late as 6:00 PM in front of Jewel-Osco and the concrete had already been poured by Mr’s V’s Restauarant. The grading and final smoothing of the road base looks like it has been completed for the Hainesville Road reconfiguration which will be poured with concrete until it reaches the temporary Rollins bypass where it will blend with asphalt. This is due to the fact that eventually Hainesville will meet the new Rollins Road and then will end up getting its final section of concrete. I was also told that Clarendon would get concrete almost to Williams when it is put back in service. Also, the house on the SW corner of Clarendon and Hainesville will end up with a much larger front yard (which may be city owned) once the curbing and sidewalks go back in since Clarendon will veer slightly north to meet Hainesville Road.
I threw this quick video together so that you could see the progress the contractors continue to make while taking every advantage of the good weather.
