A great example for others to follow. Thanks for sharing.
A few months ago, NBC did a piece on Highway Commissions and how much tax dollars are being wasted. From what I understand Avon has one of the smallest amounts of roadway in all of the county (heard six miles). Hard to believe they still need over $800K to maintain those roads, but then again, they do have the nicest looking trucks in the area parades.
If it truly is six miles, then maybe it is time for the area villages to absorb these roads and save us even more money.
Thanks for all you do to keep us informed.

Sean ~ I was talking to the man in charge of the road crew and he told several of us, who were waiting for the executive session to end, that the Twp. contracts out with a number of areas. One that I remember him saying was Mariner’s Cove in Grayslake. I’m not sure if the dollar amounts include maintaining a few contracted subdivisions or not, with the income offsetting the expense in another column of the spreadsheet.

Thanks for being part of my blog readers.
