There wasn’t a lot on the agenda for the September Avon Township Monthly Board Meeting which lasted only about 40 minutes before going into Executive Session. Supervisor Lisa Rusch gave her report followed by Highway Commissioner Bob Kula. Avon Township Assessor Chris Ditton was a no-show and therefore Supervisor Rusch ended up reading his report which was followed by Clerk Kearby giving her report. Rusch also mentioned some changes in the hours which are posted on the door. The Trustees were asked if they had any reports but there was little discussion. With all of the overlapping events going on throughout the different Villages on the same days, Trustee Cathy deGroh questioned why the Township couldn’t be the central point for everyone to be able to see what is being scheduled before setting their dates. For example, Round Lake, Round Lake Heights, and Hainesville all had major events on the same day this past weekend. In addition, there was a major event going on at the RLB Cultural & Civic Center. It might not be a bad idea for someone to host a “village reference calendar” to avoid what went on this weekend from happening in the future. It could also be a one-stop location for residents to view and plan their week(end).
The following video is the full length meeting minus the Executive Session.
