A new parade route through Round Lake Beach due to road construction
Avon Township Youth Baseball held their annual 4th of July parade on Friday, July 4th. Participants began lining up at 8:00 AM along Hawthorne Drive just west of Elm Street in Round Lake Beach. The parade then kicked off at 9:00 AM with fire trucks, police and village officials leading the way. Because of the closure of Washington Street in Round Lake Park and Hainesville the parade started at Elm & Clarendon. It headed east on Clarendon to Hainesville Road and then turned south to Patriot Way in Hainesville (just south of the baseball complex) and continued around to Union Square Park where it concluded.
At the conclusion of the parade, ATYB hosted All-Star games for the rest of the day for all of the leagues. They also offered bratwurst, corn and hamburgers on the grill again this year.
The weather was perfect for a parade and a great day afterwards at the ball field.
