At 11:00 AM Thursday, August 11, 2011, the Village of Round Lake Beach announced that water samples had been taken from several locations in the supply lines and that a State certified laboratory had approved the water as safe to drink. This means that those serviced by the Round Lake Beach water system can go back to normal use immediately. They also apologized for any inconvenience that it may have caused.
For anyone who may have ingested water during the boil order, according to public works Director Keith Neitzke, the system maintained its integrity and nothing entered the system. Issuing the boil alert was a State requirement when water pressure drops into a certain range, even though it was not a significant drop.
