Daisy Troop 40559 Plants Their Vegetable Garden

Round Lake’s Daisy Troop 40559 got their vegetable garden completed on Saturday, May 21st, digging in the freshly tilled soil at the Avon Township Community Garden. After their final meeting before summer break, the Daisy Troop spent several hours planting the tomato plants that each girl had previously started plus rows of other seeds such as beans, pumpkin, cantaloupe, watermelon, and sweet corn, just to name a few.

Wendy Warden, President of the Avon Township Community Foundation, was on hand to assist the Daisy Troop 40559 girls and show them the proper way to plant their seeds as well as how to transplant their tomato plants. After the planting was completed the Troop enjoyed a burger and hot dog cook-out along with some very tasty deserts!

NOTE: We mistakenly identified the Daisy Troop as 41 in the video but it is actually Daisy Troop 40559 in District 116
