Round Lake Area Exchange Club Recognizes December 2015 Youth of the Month
According to the National Exchange Club website, “one of the most popular Exchange youth projects, the Youth of the Month Award recognizes hard-working high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement, and leadership. This proven program not only rewards out-standing young people but also provides an incentive for other youngsters to strive for equally high levels of achievement.”
The 2015-2016 Youth of the Month theme is, “responsible citizenship for a strong America!” The December 2015 Youth of the Month, Round Lake High School senior, Jocelyne Jaime, was recognized at the Round Lake Area Exchange Club meeting on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Exchange Club President, Jeanne Kearby presented Jocelyne with a certificate and an Amazon gift card. The RLAS-116 Board of Education also recognized Jocelyne at their meeting on December 7, 2015.
Jocelyne’s guidance counselor Penina Noonan shared that Jocelyne has a 3.738 GPA and a litany of honors courses shows she is one incredible young woman. She is involved in many activities such as Panther Crew, Dream Club, National Honor Society and is President of the French Honors Society. Over the summer she worked for at Pleviak Elementary and she participates in several volunteering activities at her aunt’s daycare, the Rotary Neediest Children’s Christmas Party, the Santa Supper, and on top of all that works for AZAD Driving School as a secretary. Jocelyne has aspirations of going to college and becoming a Social Sciences teacher focusing on Psychology and Sociology.
