A Decent Turnout of Voters Were In Attendance
Democrat Melinda Bush, State Senator of Illinois’ 31st District, held a local town hall meeting on July 23rd to update her constituents on what is currently being discussed and voted upon in Springfield. After a half hour of updates Senator Bush took numerous questions from the three dozen people in attendance including political gadfly Edward Erwin of Lindenhurst (video 37:21-41:21) who was decisively defeated in his bid to unseat Republican JoAnn Osmond for the 61st District of the Illinois House of Representatives in 2012. The meeting was held at the Antioch Township Center at Grass Lake Road and Deep Lake Road in Lake Villa from 6:00 until 7:30 PM. The Senator remained after the scheduled meeting to meet with consituents and answer any other questions they may not have been able to ask during the meeting.
With the Township Center’s vaulted ceiling upper windows allowing the setting sun rays to penetrate the meeting hall and Senator Bush positioning herself directly in front of several extremely bright windows, it raised havoc with the video camera’s auto-focus feature. There are also times that she may be difficult to hear due to the lack of any type of sound system. I used all of my available tools to enhance the video’s lighting but the end result is still a very poor looking video. At least you can hear her words along with the questions that were asked, although you may have to play with your volume settings.
