Blessed with great weather the volunteer bands and everyone else involved with the two-day Jam For Autism event finally wrapped things up late Sunday evening at the Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center. Their were 40 bands scheduled to play on four different stages throughout the day and into the evening hours on both Saturday and Sunday, September 6 -7.
Between attending a parade and two local festivals I finally had a chance to stop by after peeking inside the remodeled Buffalo Wild Wings just before they officially re-opened at noon for the Chicago Bears game opener.
The following video shows the Midway before the bands began playing at 2:00, just to acknowledge the many vendors who also help make these events a huge success. At the end of the video is a few minutes of the three opening acts. The three fellows on the Main Stage volunteered to jam together in place of a group that wasn’t able to perform due to an emergency. We had fun trying to think up a name for their “temporary” group before they started performing. As I recall it had something like “catfish blues” in the name. There are a lot of videos on YouTube showing many of the bands who performed if you do some searching there. You can also view posts on their official F/B page where people have linked to the videos that they took: https://www.facebook.com/events/583926305060041
