Lake County Republican Federation Pleased with Success of 54th Annual Spring Gala
The Lake County Republican Federation welcomed over 450 guests to the Marriott Lincolnshire on Friday, April 15th, for their 54th Annual Spring Gala, featuring keynote speaker Governor Bruce Rauner.
Federation President Larry Falbe emceed the program, and Comptroller Leslie Munger of Lincolnshire introduced the Governor, who was given a standing ovation before taking the stage.
“We are deeply gratified that Governor Rauner took time out of his busy schedule to make the trip to Lake County,” Said Lake County Federation President Larry Falbe. “He gave a great speech and everyone was extremely interested to hear his vision on how to bring the state back from the brink of economic ruin.”
Other notable speeches included comments from US Congressmen Peter Roskam, Bob Dold, and Randy Hultgren, and retiring State Senator Dan Duffy.
At the end of the evening, dinner chairperson and Federation Vice President Kim Madden was awarded the Milton-Stuart award, named after Lake County Republican Central Committee Chairman Robert J. “Bob” Milton and Ambassador Robert D. Stuart, who founded the Lake County Republican Federation in 1962. In addition, former Circuit Court Chief Judge Fred Foreman was awarded a special Lifetime Achievement Award for his service to the Republican Party.
The goal of the event is to raise the funds necessary for a successful 2016 election campaign. Proceeds will be used towards grassroots organizing efforts, upgrading technology, maintaining Lake County Republican Headquarters, and providing staff support for the Lake County GOP.
