Six candidates vying for three 4-year Trustee seats
The League of Women Voters held a public forum at the Hainesville Village Hall on March 10, 2015, for residents to meet and ask questions of the six candidates running for three 4-year terms. Hainesville Mayor, Linda Soto, welcomed the audience members and introduced those who helped make the event possible. The moderator was Kathy Clay and the coordinator was Diane Sanderson, both from the LWV
Several dozen people attended the forum and asked questions ranging from why they felt they were the best candidate for the position to what do they feel is the biggest problem with the current administration. There was some concern about one candidate whose spouse is already on the Board as well as another candidate who is president of a subdivision’s homeowners association and what conflicts those things might raise. One of the candidates (Barrett) is currently a village trustee and another (Hein) was appointed to fill a vacancy.
All six candidates gave an opening introduction and after the hour long question and answer period gave their closing remarks. You can watch the entire, unedited, forum below.
Below are the six candidates in the order that they were seated from left to right.
|George Duberstein||Mark Typlin|
|Kevin Barrett||Jacki Brunk|
|Dena Beth Hein||Michael Russell|
