It was revealed today by columnist Jake Griffin of the Daily Herald, that Manju Goel would be announcing her decision to run as a Republican candidate for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District currently held by Tammy Duckworth. Griffin reported that the Indian-American candidacy project, led by Texas Congressman Pete Sessions was planning on fielding 10 Indian-American candidates to run in the upcoming GOP primaries. Although Goel lives in Aurora she has a residence in Glendale Heights which is located in the 8th District. Goel currently works in the health care industry and is a fiscal conservative who has never held a political office. She is a graduate of Devry University and is currently employed at Dreyer Medical Clinic. Some of Goel’s previous work experience includes Vanguard Health Systems as well as Indian Prairie School District #204.
