Although five videos have been uploaded showing the various contested offices that were included in Wednesday’s League of Women Voters candidate forum, I would be remiss not to include the portion acknowledging the sponsors. The video below shows a few clips of the main lobby where the candidates were just starting to arrive and setting up their greeting tables. Anne Richmond, Round Lake Library Board Treasurer, gave the opening introductions after the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Former Congressman Bob Dold was originally scheduled to appear along with incumbent Brad Schneider but Schneider supposedly backed out so that portion was scratched from the agenda. Dold was still in attendance to greet community residents as they arrived and explain his platform before and after the forum.
Local radio station WRLR at 98.3 FM was on hand broadcasting live as was Comcast cable. Both will be doing re-broadcasts of the event. All five portions of the candidate forum are available on this news blog, separated into each particular contested race as follows:
Drobinski vs Yingling for Illinois District 62 Representative
Werfel vs Wylie for Lake County Board District #6
Kilkelly vs Wyckoff for Lake County Clerk
Curran vs Patt for Lake County Sheriff
Ryback vs Stolman for Lake County Treasurer
The following video contains a few extra video clips that were not included in the individual candidate videos posted earlier.
