I doubt that many people are having the winter ‘blues’ considering how mild it has been. It’s definitely helping people cut their heating bills and Excedrin costs for that aching back, from shoveling.
I took a walk down by the lake to see if it was still frozen and shot a few photos. What looks like a submarine cruising Round Lake is really an ice fishing shelter. With the warmer temperatures we’ve had I was reluctant to walk out to it, not knowing the best (frozen) route. I doubt that it will still be there by the weekend.
Everything along the boat launch is still quite frozen over. The usual number of geese were nowhere to be found which meant that the sidewalk was clear of landmines and I could actually look forward while walking instead of down at the sidewalk.
In today’s paper there was a Menard’s ad with a full page of gardening supplies. I’m not so sure this is the time to start my tomatoes and peppers inside, yet just imagine how nice and big they would be by April 1st. I’ll have to give it a little more thought!
