With friends and family looking on, two Round Lake Beach Trustees stepped down and two new members took their seats as well as one incumbent who ran for re-election. Senior Trustee Jerry Mattingly made an emotional speech during the meeting, thanking the Board, Mayor Rich Hill and especially his wife who has supported him all these years. Trustee Tom Smith also made a brief statement prior to stepping down. Trustee Larry Mount will now become the Senior Trustee and he also made a statement thanking both Trustees and reminiscing about several events that took place during their tenure.
The only incumbent who ran for re-election was Trustee Sue Butler who was sworn in for another term. New to the Round Lake Beach Village Board of Trustees are Linette Benes and Kevin Wallace who were also sworn in by the Honorable Judge Raymond D. Collins.
Resolutions honoring both outgoing Trustees were read into the official records and plaques were then presented to both gentleman. Afterwards, Mrs. Mattingly and Mrs. Smith both received a huge bouquet of flowers from the Board as a ‘Thank-You’ for all that they have done alongside their Trustee husbands.

Since the Board records their meetings and makes them available on their website, I had only planned on taking a few still shots afterwards but decided to tape several portions without utilizing a tripod so it’s a bit shaky in spots as I tried to maneuver around those sitting in front of me.
