No Rest for Political Candidates After the Primary

There was no break for candidates running for political office who either were unopposed or won their primary. Saturday I had some free time so I paid a visit to the Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber of Commerce SpringFest Expo at Lakes High School (Deep Lake & Grass Lake Rd.). Besides well over a hundred vendors and an expected crowd of over 4,000 for the two day event, there were plenty of local candidates pressing the flesh and handing out their fliers. Many of them had an easy ride with no opponent but now must pick up the pace with November’s general election not that far off. For those who gave up a beautiful day to meet and greet the public, I thought it would be nice to give them a plug.

I look forward to hearing more from all the candidates as I continue to cover and videotape as many debates and functions as time allows.
