Rene Hernandez Jr., a senior sales representative from Round Lake who declared his Republican candidacy in September for the Lake County Board’s District 16 seat, is holding a local campaign kickoff and fundraiser on October 30th. The event will be held at the Four Coynes Bar with the following details:
Hernandez has a solid history of public service to his community including being a delegate to the state of Illinois Republican Convention, elected to the Round Lake Library Board, founding member of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Cook County, and founding the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Lake County. He also serves as a non-paid volunteer for the non-profit organization, Childserve, teaching English as a Second Language to legal immigrants who want to improve their lives as his parents did for him.
Hernandez is running against Michael Carbone, a Grayslake Elementary District 46 board member, in the March primary. The winner will face Democratic incumbent Terry Wilke of Round Lake Beach in the 2012 General Election. You can find out more about Rene by visiting his website at: www.ReneJrForLake.com
