State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, met with students from the College of Lake County’s American Politics Class on Monday. Yingling spoke to the class about a wide range of topics ranging from the state budget to effective ways residents can advocate for particular issues or causes, and he answered their questions.
“As the legislature continues to address the state’s concerns, we must always keep in mind the effects our decisions will have on future generations,” Yingling said. “It’s truly humbling to visit with our area’s young adults and to see them take an active interest in the policies that affect our communities. Visits with local college student’s helps toward ensuring their voices are included in discussions at the capitol.”
