Round Lake Area Schools Hosts 3rd Annual Talent Expo
A Spotlight on Extraordinary Student Talent!
A spotlight will shine brightly on a large group of talented students from Round Lake Area Schools CUSD #116 in grades K-12 next Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Forty-five students will be performing on the big stage in front of a crowd of approximately 500 attendees highlighting their talents, including from vocal, dance and instrumental. Visual arts displays will fill the room from another 350+ students from across the school district.
The Talent Expo is the district’s largest fundraising event of the year. Funds collected from thirty-six sponsors, basket raffles and ticket sales will be used to expand upon the ever-growing Fine Arts program within the district. This year’s event is expected to raise about $15,000 for the students of RLAS-116. “Following this event, teachers will have an opportunity to submit grant applications for the coming school year. Grants will be awarded to teachers who submit ideas for how we can raise the bar in the area of Fine Arts. We look forward to the innovative ideas that will come through this process!”, stated Superintendent Dr. Constance Collins.
Members of the Round Lake Area community are invited to attend this amazing display of student talent. The event will take place at the Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center, located at 2007 N. Civic Center Way, Round Lake Beach. Doors will open at 5:30pm, with performances to kick off at 6:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 each.
