U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) spent Monday at the Waukegan Ramada talking to local businesses that were hiring and over 300 individuals who were looking for work. Dold hosted this jobs fair with special guest State Representative Rita Mayfield as part of his ongoing efforts to put the 10th District back to work.
“I am encouraged by the success of this jobs fair,” said Dold. “One of the requirements to participate in the jobs fair is that you must be hiring- and we had over two dozen companies represented at this event. I also want to thank State Representative Rita Mayfield for all her efforts in ensuring that this event is a success. Helping people in the 10th District find a job isn’t a Republican or Democrat idea, it’s an American priority and I am pleased to see so many people come to this event.”
Dold has traveled throughout the 10th District to meet with small business owners, hold employee town halls, and cultivate new ideas to spur the economy and get Illinois back to work. His independent, thoughtful leadership has broken through the Washington gridlock to help pass legislation that helps small businesses, empowers local manufacturers to increase exports, and extended the payroll tax holiday for hardworking families. He has held three jobs fairs throughout the 10th District and regularly meetings with his 10th District Jobs Task Force.
Rep. Dold is a small business owner and he has faced many of the challenges confronting business leaders today and is using that firsthand experience in Washington to help find ways to create more jobs and strengthen the economy. For more information on his work in Congress, visit www.dold.house.gov
