WASHINGTON, DC – Last week, U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) was given the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award for his support of pro-jobs and pro-growth policies during the first session of the 112th Congress. The award was given by the United States Chamber of Commerce.
“I am honored to receive this award,” said Dold. “As a small business owner, I know firsthand that the government cannot create jobs; rather, they can empower job creators by removing obstacles and red tape and promoting pro-growth policies. If we can encourage half of our small businesses to hire one additional worker, we will be well on our way to putting our nation back to work.”
“Over the past year, Congressman Dold has worked to protect and advance the interest of America’s jobs creators,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “By supporting pro-growth policies, Congressman Dold is helping unleash the power of free enterprise to put our economy back on track and put Americans back to work.”
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations
