I took a drive thru the Rollins Road Gateway project late this afternoon and when there aren’t big trucks and equipment moving around or on-site it’s hard to tell what was accomplished over the past couple of days. That’s not to say that workers weren’t busy doing small things that still require attention before the “noticeable” things start showing up again. They moved some of the flashing barricades on Hainesville Road off to the ditch and put a few of those big drums along the newly poured asphalt strip instead so be careful. The houses are scheduled to come down Labor Day week providing the asbestos floor tile was removed. A drive along Route 83 (video below) showed signs of the continued clearing they spoke about with large trees removed from in front of the small retail strip that faces Rt. 83 just south of the vacant PNC Bank. Other than that, there is no big noticeable changes to report on. Drive with caution thru this area as trucks and workers continue to move about during the day.
