Detour scheduled for June 13th thru June 16th
Concrete paving work is continuing on the west leg of Rollins Rd. By the end of Tuesday, nearly all the new concrete lanes will be in place west of Hainesville. The curbs and driveway will be completed in the upcoming weeks.
The plan is to shift traffic on Hainesville onto this new pavement at the intersection with Rollins, hopefully as early as next week. This will allow the contractor to begin building the east half of the intersection and continue with the new pavement to the east.
The contractor has also begun work on a new retaining wall on the w. side of IL 83, s. of Hook. They may begin placing concrete for that as early as this week.
Also, excavation for the new Rollins/IL 83 is continuing e. of the new bridge.
The railroad has scheduled their upcoming work. New track is being placed right now, starting south of Rollins. They plan to install the temporary crossing of Rollins Rd. the weekend of June 14/15. This will require Rollins to be closed at the RR crossing from the end of rush hour on June 13 (approximately 7pm) until the morning of June 16. At this time, the pavement will be removed, ground prepared, stone place, track installed, and pavement replaced for the new track alignment. These new tracks (and the new bridge!) will be operational the following weekend.
At the present time the percent of completion on the project is 34%.
