Save the Dates: Sept. 12th – 14th at the Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center
The Mexican Fiestas was created as a fundraiser for St. Joseph Parish as a celebration going into Hispanic Heritage month. This will be a music festival for the 3 day weekend starting Friday, September 12 through Sunday, September 14th. They are anticipating about 10 bands playing throughout the long weekend starting Friday night from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM with “El Grito“, done by General Consul of Mexico. You can expect to see many of the city officials on stage as well. Friday is a very cultural night with Mariachi, folkloric dancers and the coronation of the Fiestas Queen.
Saturday from 1:00 to 11:00 will offer live music all day.
Sunday kicks off with the parade at 10:00 AM along Cedar Lake Road, lining up at the North Metra Lot in Round Lake and continuing north to Golfview Drive in Round Lake Beach. After the parade the Sunday festival will run from 1:00 PM until 8:30 PM and feature live music all day with different entertainment on stage.
Admission is $2 for each day of the event. Hope to see you there as well as at the parade! I’ll be at my usual spot across from Strang’s videotaping from under a shade tree.
