A great RLA Chamber sponsored family event
The Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry held their annual Chamberfest/Expo today and the parking lot was so full at 12:30 that I had to circle and finally wait for a car to leave. Besides the Avon Township “Touch A Truck” set-up in the parking lot, children could play in the Bella’s Bouncies or have photos taken with the Easter Bunny and various other costumed characters.
I got there just in time to videotape the first of three Buffalo Wild Wings eating contests. I also taped the one they held an hour later when the Buffalo was there. Both are at the end of the video below so be sure to watch it to the end. The man, Jerry Drije from Antioch, who won the first contest was competing against a much younger crowd. He didn’t even look at the gift certificate he won before handing it over to the runner-up. What a great sportsman! Little Amanda Salinas from Round Lake Heights bested her competitors as she won the second contest. All I can say is I wish they were selling the wings at the event because they sure smelled good. They were barbecue flavored but not spicy which is why the kids really woofed them down.
