Other contests included beachwear that best represented Round Lake Beach’s history, most creative outfit, and most obnoxious Hawaiian shirt. In one corner there was a Wacky Beach Scene where people could take photos to keep as their 75th keepsake. Former Mayor Carl Schrimpf was on hand with a full display of the Round Lake Beach Historic Gallery which was setup in the reception hall. For those of us who have lived out here for many years it brought back many good memories. On the outside patio the Iron Chef’s were busy charring up the hot dogs for the hungry crowd.
Campfires were ablaze for those who wanted to make themselves a few S’mores. (My clothes are still airing out the bonfire smell, but I love it!).
Be sure to check the RLB website for the next event in their yearlong celebration. I will also be posting information here as the dates get closer for each one of them. For those who missed this wonderful, fun-filled event, be sure you don’t miss the next one! If it’s anything at all like the kick-off one, they are sure to be worth attending.
Enjoy the video below. Just like the old “Candid Camera” show, you just might see yourself in it!
