Mayor Richard H. Hill elected to serve as a Vice President on the statewide organization’s Board of Directors
The Illinois Municipal League (IML) elected new officers and members to the Board of Directors, at its 104th Annual Conference, held September 21-23 at the Hilton Chicago and attended by more than 2,000 local elected and appointed officials.
On Saturday, September 23, 2017, the IML membership unanimously elected Belleville Mayor Mark W. Eckert to serve a one-year term as president. Also elected during the conference were Mayor Michael J. Inman of Macomb as First Vice President and Mayor Leon Rockingham, Jr. of North Chicago, as Second Vice President.
In addition to the officers, 36 Vice Presidents were elected to serve a one-year term on the statewide organization’s Board of Directors. Mayor Richard H. Hill was elected to serve as a Vice President.
“Serving on the board of a statewide municipal organization is an important opportunity for me as well as the citizens who elected me,” said Hill. “I look forward to being a strong voice on behalf of our community.”

Richard Hill, has been a resident of Round Lake Beach since 1977, Mayor since April of 2001 and a Village Trustee from 1995 to 2001.
He has worked with the public since the age of 15 and enjoy helping solve people’s problems. Giving back to my community has always been important to him whether it’s through the Boy Scouts, Round Lake Area Lake Management Organization, President and Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner of the Round Lake Area Park District, Round Lake Beach Trustee or current position as Mayor. He also serves as Chairman of the Board for the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (the provider of the Village’s Lake Michigan drinking water), Chairman of the Northwest Lake County Wholesale Sewer Policy Advisory Committee, Vice-Chairman of Cencom (police & fire dispatch center for the Round Lake Area, Barrington and Antioch), on the Board of Directors for the Round Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer for the Lake County Municipal League and a Vice-President of the Illinois Municipal League.
