One of A.J.’s make-a-wish desires is to be a police officer.
On Monday, January 5, 2015 Mayor MacGillis, Clerk Blauvelt and the Police Department we will swear in our newest police officers. One of them is a 7-year-old Round Lake child named A.J. who is being treated for a rare type of brain cancer called DIPG. One of A.J.’s make-a-wish desires is to be a police officer. The Village has agreed that having A.J. join the Round Lake Police Department would be an excellent addition to our Village family. On January 5, 2015 you are encouraged to attend the Round Lake Village Board of Trustee meeting to join in the celebration and welcome our newest officers. Please try to come out for this wonderful event and show A.J. how welcome and special he truly is.
In the meantime, we are trying to collect some small Christmas gifts to give to A.J. and his brother and sisters when A.J. comes to the police station to visit and tour the facility later this month. If you are inclined to help us gather some small gifts, please drop them off at the police station or give it (them) to an officer when you see an officer.
The following video link will help you get to know A.J. a little better. Getting to know A.J.
Thank you and I hope to see you at the January 5th. meeting.
Michael J. L. Gillette | Chief of Police
