Round Lake “National Night Out” August 7, 2012

Press Release from the Village of Round Lake:

This year’s National Night Out event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5-7pm. We will host the event at the Police Department. Deputy Chief Foy is the contact person and can be reached at 847-546-8112.

Come and enjoy a puppet show, free hot dogs and popcorn and a family movie! This is a great way to get involved! Please see the attached flyer for further detail.

National Night Out is designed to:

1. Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
2. Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
3. Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
4. Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

Other Round Lake Area communities that will be holding a “National Night Out” are as follows:

Round Lake Beach:
Tuesday, August 7 = 5:00 – 8:00 PM
Round Lake Beachfront, 1019 Lakeshore Drive
Car show for cars, motorcycles, trucks, and SUV’s
“Barricade” from the “Transformers” movie will be there, compliments of the Volo Auto Museum

Round Lake Park:
RLP Police Department, 215 E. Main Street
Tuesday, August 7 = 6:30 – 9:00 PM
Motorcycle and car show, clown and magician show, police vehicle display, free hot dogs and popcorn.

Round Lake Heights:
There are no plans to participate this year according to a spokesperson at Village Hall
