Potholes in excess of 4″ deep due to poor parking lot maintenance
Motorists who use the drive through mailbox at the Round Lake Post Office may need some new rims or a front end alignment after they encounter the many deep potholes in the entrance and drive through lane. It’s especially hard to see these potholes at night when dropping mail into the outside mailbox. A spokesperson at the post office said that they had submitted paperwork to get funds approved some time ago. The person also told me that they were not allowed to simply take an empty mail truck over to Ace Hardware or Home Depot and pick up several bags of driveway patch and dump in the holes temporarily.
A visual inspection of the main lot shows signs of poor maintenance, such as annual seal coating which helps to prevent the damage caused by oil and anti-freeze dripping from under vehicles. This lack of normal parking lot maintenance has now caused major deterioration which will end up costing taxpayers even more. I’ve included the post office address and phone number at the end of the video for those who would like to call and complain about the damage being done to their vehicles.
