On Thursday, December 4th, Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by the Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center along with one of their reindeer to have supper with local residents. While there, everyone was invited to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus as well as do some Holiday shopping at the many craft tables setup in the main hall area. Supper included great tasting spaghetti, Italian bread, salad, a cookie, and tasty lemonade catered by the same organization that provides the school lunches. With most people owning phones that have decent cameras there was no professional photographer on hand and the line moved much faster. A nice lady who was monitoring the waiting line was also available to take group photos with your camera if you needed someone to do that for you.
Our local radio station, WRLR-98.3FM, was on hand playing Holiday music and auditioning audience participants for upcoming holiday messages that will air throughout the Season. One of those auditions is in the video below.
The Round Lake Beach Emergency Management Agency volunteers were also on hand doing traffic and crowd control. It doesn’t matter what the weather conditions are outside, these men and women still help anytime they are called upon.
Those who arrived with non-perishable foods for the local food pantry saved a dollar on their Santa Supper. As you can see, many took advantage of the savings with the benefactors being those in need.
