Team Hospira Plants Avon Community Garden (2012)

Wendy Warden, who heads the Avon Township Community Foundation, posted on the Foundations Facebook page that

To our complete amazement Team Hospira planted all of our on site donated plants, set up all of the rain barrels for the Community Garden, watered in all of the plantings, then decided we needed more plants for the Food Production Garden, went shopping for the plants, & returned to plant them

Today, I took a drive by the Avon Community Garden and Food Pantry Production Farm to post a few photos here and found two families planting their rented plots as well. I’m not sure if there are any plots still available but you can contact Wendy Warden at the Foundation = 224-338-9240 to find out. You can also find out more about the Foundation’s upcoming events by visiting their Facebook page.

With the community garden plot doubling in size last year, it takes a LOT of work to plant it all.
