Washington St. Update ~ Will They Miss Their Target Date?

It's hard enough paying the bills but even harder when your customers can't get into your parking lot.

The widening of Washington Street in Round Lake which included a two month closure near Cedar Lake Road looks as though it will miss the target date of November 17th. This will cause even more hardship on residents and commuters once Rollins Road is closed for two weeks starting November 11th thru Nov. 25th. Businesses along Rollins Road have not been affected quite as bad as those near the intersection of Cedar Lake and Washington, such as Lily’s Hot Dogs. As you can see in the video below, trucks are using the only remaining entrance to Lily’s as a staging area while waiting in line to haul away dirt being excavated for a new storm sewer at the intersection. It is important that we all continue to support these local businesses as they struggle to make ends meet during these two construction projects.
