ZIP Fitness Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

ZIP Fitness opened its 5th location at 817 E. Rollins Rd. in Round Lake Beach and celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on December 13, 2012. Partners Jim Reddinger and Chris Wilson now have locations in Waukegan, Chicago (Harlem-Foster), Joliet, Bolingbrook, and Round Lake Beach that offer affordable gym memberships for people who want to improve their health and wellness.

Several dignitaries were on hand Thursday afternoon to help celebrate the Grand Opening, including officials from the Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Rich Hill and wife Kathy, as well as Round Lake Beach Trustees Larry Mount and Tom Smith. There was food and beverages available before and after the guided tour by Manager Ale Figueroa who escorted the group through the facility explaining the various work-out areas.

ZIP Fitness Offers Two Membership Levels

ZIP Fitness enrollment has far exceeded their preliminary membership projections. Come along and take a peek inside this newest location which sports 21,000 SF of the latest in exercise equipment. In the video below I tried to give you a view of all areas including the spotless locker rooms and other available amenities.

Currently ZIP Fitness offers two packages. The ZIP membership is only $12.99/month which includes single facility usage, no contract, and no other fees. They also offer the ZIP Gold membership for $24.99/mo. which has the added benefits of multiple facility usage (at any of their other locations), ONE guest pass per visit, unlimited tanning, unlimited group fitness classes, ActivTrax online personal trainer, and a ZIP water bottle and T-shirt. ZIP Fitness is always running some type of special and currently are offering the standard membership “Joining Fee” at only $1.00 and the Gold at only $10.00 (normally $29 and $49 respectively).

I asked co-owner, Jim Reddinger what a new member normally does on day one if they have never been to one of these types of businesses and he said most will migrate to the treadmills at first. He also pointed out that they have a “Gym Guru” named Fred Salazar who can help members understand the functions of each type of equipment and help them get started. A member can also sign up for individual personal training at an hourly rate.

Join me, along with the Mayor and other officials, as Ale walks us through the facility:
