Island Lake woman convicted of stealing $50K from employer

An Island Lake woman faces possible prison time for stealing $50,000 from her employer, according to a news release from the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office.

After deliberating for more than two hours, a Kane County jury convicted 33-year-old Erin J. Noffs of theft Thursday, the release stated.

Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Kelli Schmidt and Julie Gerding presented evidence that between October 2014 and October 2015, Noffs stole about $50,000 from her Elgin-based employer by inflating her pay on payroll checks, according to the release.
