Kenosha man charged with sexual assault of child – Bond set at $100K

A Kenosha man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl when she was 8 years old.

Jose A. Ramos-Cruz, 48, is charged with first-degree sexual assault – sexual contact with a child under the age of 13, a class B felony, and first-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 12, a class B felony, for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl who was staying at the house he shared with his then-girlfriend while the girl’s mother was in Texas in 2015.

According to the criminal complaint filed in the case Monday, an officer with the Round Lake Police Department in Illinois was notified on Sept. 13 of a report the 12-year-old had been assaulted by Ramos-Cruz when she was 8 years old.

The mother told police that the sexual assaults would have taken place around the time the girl was staying with Ramos-Cruz and a friend when the mother went to Texas for two days in March 2015.
