O’Hare protest a non-starter with several voluntary arrests

A planned protest to shut down the Kennedy Expressway leading to O’Hare on Labor Day fizzled out as State Police outnumbered the few hundred protesters who showed up.

With police vans and buses available to transport any protesters willing to cross the police line and interfere with expressway traffic, organizer Gregory Livingston and a handful of protesters decided to make a symbolic gesture by being arrested.

Eight men and four women were arrested, given $120 citations for being a “pedestrian on a highway”, and released according to State Police.
