A 17-year-old is in custody in connection with an armed robbery Sunday evening in Round Lake Park, police said. Authorities were called to the 300 Block of Elder Drive at about 7 p.m. after the teen and another individual allegedly entered a garage and held a person at knifepoint. The two took a cell phone and jewelry.
One of two suspects was taken into custody by responding officers. The teen, whose identity is not being released because he is a he juvenile, has been charged with armed robbery, a class x felony; aggravated armed robbery, a class 1 felony; and robbery, a class 2 felony, according to a news release.
The teen is being held at Depke Juvenile Detention Center.
